Our Specialist Medicine team have accumulated years of experience in referral practice, general practice, academic institutions and laboratory settings, and have access to a tremendous range of colleagues and other specialist contacts both nationally and internationally. Medicine Specialists are sometimes referred to as the "doctor's doctor" - they are called upon to help find the solutions to the most puzzling diagnostic problems. Our postgraduate-trained consultants examine a great variety of complex multi-system disorders in dogs and cats, including cancers or unexplained masses, chronic gastro-intestinal problems, increased thirst, urinary difficulties, unexplained recurrent fever or infections, hormonal system abnormalities, breathing difficulties, chronic coughing problems, abdominal diseases and medical neurological problems to name but a few.

After initial consultation most patients will usually be admitted to hospital for further investigations. Often in the best interests of your animal, investigations may need to be split into different stages but we always try to minimize the inconvenience to your timetable and minimize the amount of time that pets have to spend away from home. After these tests animals may return home (same day or next day) whilst awaiting test results, but some may need to stay in for additional treatment according to how unwell they are.

Our Medicine Team consists of:
