Things to do in the local area

After their initial consultation, pets are usually hospitalised for one or more nights in order to benefit from the referral investigations and treatment. However on occasion, some pets only require short investigations and may only need to stay with us for a few hours or the day. In this instance it may not be practical or convenient for you to drive home whilst these procedures are performed.

  • Newnham Court Veterinary Group (PETS Ltd) are a separate general practice co-located at the Veterinary Hospital, Newnham Court, Bearsted Rd, Maidstone. They are an excellent primary care practice - if your pet is not already registered with a local vet, we would strongly and independently recommend them. Please see their website www.newnhamvets.co.uk for further information. Please note; your pet is welcome to see us when referred to Pinnacle Specialists by your local vet. We regret to inform you that your pet cannot also be registered at the primary care practices co-located at Newnham Court (Newnham Court Veterinary Group / PETS Ltd). This is an understanding which has been formally agreed between all parties.
  • Pinnacle Specialists support the concept of pet insurance. It's not just about our wages - our daily experience is that pets benefit from pet insurance and from referral expertise. We are not tied to any pet insurance company - but would recommend that you compare different insurance policies not just in terms of cost, but also in terms of level of cover. Key points to consider are; the cover limit in place and whether it applies per annum, per condition or a combination of the two; the amount of excess applied per condition and/or policy year (sometimes these may be percentage based); the time-limits in place on a condition (will it be covered for life or just for one year from the onset of clinical signs?); and how the policy will change as your pet gets older. There are various insurance comparison websites which will offer you advice on the range of options available.
  • The digital portraits of the pets displayed in our consultation rooms are provided courtesy of Chris Ward Photo Art. We are delighted to recommend Chris - his talents stretch from digital portraiture (of pets, people or treasured possessions) through to photo restoration. The gallery at www.chriswardphotoart.com" is worth a visit.
