What Happens at Consultation?

< Back to homepage

When you arrive for consultation, you will be welcomed by one of our Customer Service Representatives, who will help you with your paperwork and assist with any queries. All of our staff are pet owners - they will understand that you are concerned about your pet and will do their best to put both you and your pet at ease. Your Case Nurse will then be introduced to you, and will go through the General Health Queries form and other clinical queries. Our Case Nurses are highly experienced RVNs (registered veterinary nurses); they are both technically knowledgeable (to referral practice standard) and dedicated carers. They too will be responsible for looking after your pet.

Your Specialist will have reviewed the available clinical notes and test results provided by your first opinion vet. They will then take a detailed history from you. A variety of examinations will be performed at the time of consultation and/or in hospital. Plenty of time will be allowed for the consultation and your Specialist will be able to present you with a balanced range of options and a treatment plan so that you can make an informed decision as to what to do next. Both your Specialist and your Case Nurse will be able to provide an estimate of costs at the time of consultation.
