Having discussed your dog's problems with your Specialist, you will be in a
better position to decide upon the best course of action for you and your
pet. On their first visit, most pets will be admitted for investigations.
Your dog may need to stay for one or more nights; if you have any concerns
for your pet or simply want some advice with respect to travel arrangements,
please feel free to discuss this with one of our Service Representatives
before or at the time of your appointment. More detail regarding the length
of his/her hospital stay is best gained from your Specialist and Case Nurse
at the time of consultation. Your Case Nurse will be responsible for the
care of your pet and they will be assisted by other nursing colleagues in
providing round the clock, expert nursing care.
Your Case Nurse will provide you with an additional point of contact; please
feel free to highlight further details regarding the feeding or care of your
pet, including any foods they do or don't like, their behaviour when
kennelled/on the lead/towards other dogs etc. Along with your Specialist,
your Case Nurse will help to keep you up-to-date with regard to how
investigations are progressing. They will always try to give you a frank
assessment as to whether your dog has settled in hospital (or not), whether
they are comfortable, eating, drinking, etc. as well as providing an
assessment of their general well-being. All dogs that are mobile are walked
outside by our nursing staff. If they are poorly mobile they will be
assisted with harness support and/or physiotherapy. If they are immobile,
regular turning on padded bedding is carried out routinely, plus
physiotherapy and TLC!
Rest assured that your pet will receive 24 hour veterinary and nursing care.
Don't forget that almost every member of the Pinnacle’s team is a pet owner
as well: We know how much our pets mean to us and therefore how much your
pet means to you. Your pet will be treated as one of the Pinnacle family.
